I decided to take this course because, as I progress further in my major, I've been becoming increasingly interested in race and gender issues in Japan. Although I suspect this course will focus on feminism in the West, I think that it will still enrich my perspective on some of these issues.
Five questions:
- What is feminism?
- What is the history of the feminist movement?
- What does feminism mean to my generation?
- What are the most important political, social and cultural issues to modern feminist activists?
- What is the state of women's rights in other parts of the world?
